Our TTC Timeline

How did we get to where we are now?  Here is how it all began!

  • January 2011-I began working at a local animal shelter. That same week, Hubby began volunteering and we met.
  • May 28,2011-After a couple of dates, Hubby and I made it official became an “item”.
  • December 9, 2011-Hubby asked me to be his wife and to join him on this crazy ride called life.  In all honesty, we knew a month into dating we would get married and even had some of the details planned!
  • May 28, 2012-We were married on our 1 year anniversary!
  • August 20th, 2012-I got what we in the infertility world call a “squinter” after I took a home pregnancy test after two previous negative tests.
  • August 21st, 2012-One day after a possible BFP (Big Fat Positive) I began having extreme cramps and it was later determined I miscarried.
  • January 2013-I stop taking Birth Control Pills and we start the “if it happens, it happens” mindset.
  • January 2014-Cleared by Endocrinologist to start TTC.
  • February 2014-I have a consultation with a new OB/GYN for a woman’s exam and general consult for TTC.
  • June 2014-After two ER visits for abdominal pain, I was admitted to the hospital for 5 days due to an Ovarian Cyst on my left ovary.  On the 4th day, I had a Laproscopy and Cystectomy where the doctor I found out I had Stage 4 Endometriosis.
  • September 2nd, 2014-Begin 6-month Lupron Depot treatment (medicine to suppress hormones) to prevent growth of Endometriosis.
  • September 26, 2014-Hospitalized again for Endometriosis pain for 5 days. No cysts present.
  • December 2014-ER visit for hemorrhaging cyst on left ovary.
  • May 2015-ER visit for ruptured cyst pain on right ovary.  After no concern (and no response) from OB/GYN who told me that if I didn’t get pregnant in the year following to then come back and see her, I decided to get a second opinion. Met with new OB/GYN who on the first visit, stated I needed to see an RE immediately for fertility consult and showed more concern.
  • June 2015-Met with RE at fertility clinic.  Diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Disease, slight Diminished Ovarian Reserve in addition to the Endometriosis. Decided IVF would be best route to TTC.  Also, told not to wait too long due to long history of hospitalizations and high risk of needing hysterectomy.
  • August 2015-Baseline tests done for pre-IVF.  HSG completed to ensure no blockage in tubes and “test run” of implantation procedure to ensure uterus is reachable.
